Update on a Case Tested Positive for COVID-19
Hong Kong Airport Services Ltd (HAS) was notified that a staff member has been tested positive for COVID-19 in the evening on 25 August 2020. The company has notified the Airport Authority Hong Kong and relevant authorities, as well as staff via intranet immediately. It is our understanding that the index staff is under compulsory quarantine arranged by the Centre for Health Protection since 15 August as he has been classified as close contact of family member diagnosed with COVID-19. The individual has tested positive during the quarantine period.

The individual stationed at baggage hall at the Passenger Terminal basement. They wore a surgical mask when performing their duties and do not required physical contact with customers. The individual last reported to work on 9 August. The index staff did not develop symptoms when performing duties.

As a precaution, all co-workers who had been in close contact with the staff have been placed off duty and took throat saliva tests when the index staff are required to undergo compulsory quarantine. HAS has completed thorough cleaning and disinfection of duty offices, rest room and locker room. The company has also notified the Airport Authority Hong Kong the places where the index staff had visited on the last reported duty day.

The health and safety of all working parties is of paramount importance. We will continue to provide regular updates. All staff members are required to wear a face mask and conducted temperature checks. We always remind all staff to maintain good personal hygiene and advise them to seek medical advice immediately if they feel unwell.
