Hong Kong Airport Services Ltd (HAS) has been notified that a subcontractor staff member received a preliminarily positive test result for COVID-19 on 25 January 2022. It is our understanding that the infected subcontractor staff lives in Kwai Chung Estate and did not develop symptoms when performing duties, last reported to work on 21 January and responsible for cargo handling in cabin.
As a precaution, all co-workers in close contact with the concerned staff have been arranged to undergo COVID-19 test. All staff wear surgical masks at all times while performing their duties. HAS has arranged thorough cleaning and disinfection of the office and rest room where the staff last visited. The company has also notified the Airport Authority Hong Kong immediately the places where the index staff had visited in airport on the last reported duty days for cleaning and disinfection.
We will continue to closely monitor the situation with the aim of ensuring minimal impact to operation. At the moment, all operation is maintained as normal.
The company has also notified the Airport Authority of Hong Kong and relevant authorities, as well as our internal staff.
