Hong Kong Airport Services Ltd (HAS) has been notified that a staff member who lives in Tuen Mun Leung King Estate has been preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19 on 7 February 2022 during the Government lockdown and compulsory testing requirement. It is our understanding that the infected staff did not develop symptoms when performing duties, last reported to work on 4 February and responsible for cargo handling in cabin and safety inspection in apron.
As a precaution, all co-workers in close contact with the concerned staff have been arranged to undergo COVID-19 test. All staff wear surgical masks at all times while performing their duties. HAS has arranged thorough cleaning and disinfection of the office and rest room where the staff last visited. The company has also notified the Airport Authority Hong Kong immediately the places where the index staff had visited in airport on the last reported duty days for cleaning and disinfection.
We will continue to closely monitor the situation with the aim of ensuring minimal impact to operation. At the moment, all operation is maintained as normal.
The company has also notified the Airport Authority of Hong Kong and relevant authorities, as well as our internal staff.
