Proven in the Storm

As Typhoon Noul brought Hong Kong's first No. 9 Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal of the year, our teams at HAS by Cathay stayed at the ready, working through the night to keep operations moving safely and seamlessly.

Guided by a safety-always mindset, special safety briefings were conducted, the ramp was secured, and ground support equipment was relocated to designated safe areas before weather conditions deteriorated. Every measure was taken to protect our people, safeguard our customer airlines’ asset and maintain service continuity.

Between midnight and dawn, we successfully handled 55 aircraft movements, ensuring vital cargo and passenger flights continued to move despite the challenging conditions. Behind this achievement was the expertise, dedication and professionalism of our people, who adapted quickly and executed with precision when it mattered most.

As extreme weather events become more frequent, climate resilience is defined not only by infrastructure and processes, but also by the preparedness and commitment of the people behind them.

Thank you to our teams for helping keep Hong Kong International Airport moving, whatever the weather.
